I even disabled the opening cinematic as was outlined in another thread here, knowing that sometimes older media formats are touchy on newer systems. I disabled every running program to make sure there were no conflicts-things like antivirus and other tray programs. Yes, I let the file integrity check do its thing. To make sure there were not file corruption issues I reinstalled (thankfully I keep GoG installers archived on my external HD). Now no matter what I do the game crashes on initial loadup. When I got up today I searched for solutions to the intermittent CTDs and decided to run the game in XP SP 2 Compatibility mode. It ran fine, though there were a couple CTDs in the middle of play with no error message. What's weird for me is that I downloaded and installed this game last night. The loading screen will come up but at some point while the bar is filling, the game will CTD and Vista will simply give me an error that the executable stopped running. I am getting game crashes on initial loadup.
